Ganesh Mahotsav at SVCC Bangkok: Doordarshan Artist Ravi Yadav Leads “Vakratunda” Kathak Recital on 18 September

The recital brings a Doordarshan-graded Kathak artist from India to Bangkok. That gives the city's Indian diaspora and Thai culture lovers access to top-tier classical performance close to home. Pairing Ravi Yadav with Thai Kathak teacher Ingkarat Sivamatheewit shows how firmly Indian classical arts have taken root in Thailand. It also reflects SVCC's role as a key link in India–Thailand cultural exchange. Staged during Ganeshotsav, the event keeps festival traditions alive for the community abroad.

The recital takes place on the evening of 18 September, midway through the 10-day Ganeshotsav. Celebrations across the Indian community in Bangkok continue until Anant Chaturdashi on 25 September, when Ganesh Visarjan marks the festival's close. SVCC regularly hosts classical dance, music and yoga programmes. Attendees can follow the centre for upcoming cultural events and Kathak classes.
