State agencies make merit on anniversary of the passing of HM the late King

Government agencies across the nation this morning (October 12) gave alms and made merit in devotion to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej ahead of the anniversary of his passing tomorrow (October 13).

Civil servants in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives led by their Deputy Minister Wiwat Salayakamthorn gave alms of dried food to make merit devoted to His Majesty the late King, remembering his over 4,000 royal projects and teachings on sufficiency, which greatly benefitted the nation.

Siam Commercial Bank similarly had its employees give alms as well as sing the song “The King’s Bodhi Tree” in memoriam of King Rama 9. The bank is hosting an exhibition entitled “Father’s Words Light the Path of Life” showcasing the teachings and inspirational quotes of His Majesty the late King. Bank executives and employees have also been invited to make donations to the Siriraj Foundation benefitting impecunious patients. It has setup an E-Donation system using a QR Code to facilitate the charity drive.

In the south, Rajabhat Yala University held an alms giving ceremony at its auditorium to allow students and members of the public to make merit in devotion to the memory of the late King.
