The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has unveiled a book of royal teachings to do with sustainability, reflecting His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s initiatives.
NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai joined in giving alms this morning (December 5) alongside NLA members and staff of the Senate and Parliament offices to mark national Father’s Day, observed on the birthdate of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The NLA then launched an English language book titled “Royal Teachings: A World Leader in Sustainable Development”. The tome collects laws and legislation made in support of royal initiatives that helped them achieve concrete results. It focuses on projects by His Majesty the late King and covers 13 areas of his work, including: water management, natural resources, soil resources and farming and His Majesty’s sufficiency economy philosophy .
The NLA President donated 2,000 of the titles to representatives of agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Basic Education Communication so that they may further disperse their contents.
Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Army held a ceremony to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the late King with Army Commander Gen Apirach Kongsompong chairing the proceedings, which included a blood drive.
At the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defense, Permanent Secretary for Defense Gen Nut Intharacharoen led alms giving in devotion to King Rama 9, marking his birthday and honoring his works for the Thai people.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration at the same time passed out plaques acknowedging Model Fathers of 2018 in a ceremony chaired by Bangkok Governor Pol Gen Assawin Kwanmuang . A total of 50 fathers from each district of the capital received an award. They were selected on a criteria of 12 points, which included abstaining from alcohol and performing public service.
