BOI supports two big project concession grantees

The BOI board has approved in principle two large concession projects, supporting the auction winners for the U-Tapao International Airport Project and Digital Park Project.

Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, recently chaired a conference of the Board of Investment and related agencies. He said that more work should be done in regard to Thailand+1 to generate a relationship between Thailand and ASEAN.

He also emphasized the need for all parties to induce understanding among local members of the public and society as a whole, regarding the necessity to pursue projects that will benefit the local people and the nation. Furthermore, members of all groups must be well cared for. This will encourage them to support the development of such government projects.

Conference members saw that the U-Tapao International Airport Development Project can promote investment in Passenger Building No. 3, so they approved the construction of this project.

They also approved in principle the CAT Telecom Public Co., Ltd. as the owner of the Digital Park Thailand concession, which is in keeping with the Smart City initiative, a project similar to the U-Tapao Airport project.

The concession grantees will be exempted from the machine import duty and corporate income tax for eight years.
