General Motors (GM), one of the world's largest automakers, has reported that sales for cars and pick-ups in the South-East Asia rose 22 per cent for the first half of this year.
A GM spokesperson said that its sales increased to 13,861 units between January and June this year from 11,335 units during the first half of last year.
The highest sales increase was recorded in Indonesia with a 78 per cent rise in car sales to 2,148 units for January to June this year from 1,208 units during the same period last year.
Thailand also recorded a 24 per cent increase for its car and truck sales, registering 8,830 units for the first half of this year from 7,110 units in the corresponding period last year.
